The online school is unknown or is a relatively new concept for most ESL teachers but, in fact, it is an increasingly popular English-learning tool for students all around the world. A year ago I thought of starting my own online tutorials but I have never really gotten into it until now.

I have been teaching English in here in China for two years but I quited a few months ago. Reason as to why is that I got married and my husband’s job doesn’t allow us to stay in one place for a long time and I can’t find schools which are willing to employ me for a month or two. So I thought of working at home as an online tutor to learners of English. I believe this is a good idea because in China alone, there is a great number of people who learned or who are learning to speak English but the problem is that they do not have the opportunity to use their newly-acquired English skills in an authentic setting. In other words, they have no contact with native-speakers of English, and have little reason to speak it. In addition, due to the pressures of work or family, they may not have time to attend a regular English class, or to travel to an English-speaking country. The online school is, therefore, the perfect alternative for them.
