This blog is in its third month now and I was wondering if it would be eligible for the next Google PR update so I went to sites which offer a Google Page Rank prediction tool like this one and to my surprise, not only is this blog eligible for a rank higher than 0 but it is predicted to acquire a PR of 5. I mean wow! How accurate are these PR prediction tools? I tried it in at least five different PR prediction tools and I got the same result—PR 5. It’s not that I don’t have confidence in my own blog but a PR 5 is too good to be true for a 3 month old blog which has a little over 30 entries.
We all know that Google is now re-evaluating PR ranks because of the rampant selling of links so for sure, Google will be stricter this time in giving away PRs. Though I never sold links and this blog have only two sponsored posts, I am still afraid that I get penalized for linking to a lot of sites (which are all just linky love) and for frequently mentioning the names of popular blog advertising networks. So I don’t know… if I get a 5 then that is a big blessing but I would already be happy with a PR lower than that.
Some say bloggers shouldn’t pay so much attention to Google PR but how can we not when PR is still the basis of advertisers for hiring bloggers to advertise for them? Until the time that advertisers accept another method of ranking, bloggers who are getting paid for blogging will still want a higher PR.
