Hi,

Sorry you found the site slow. Leading up to the public launch we did have to undertake some tuning work on the site. We compressed the javascript files we’re using, moved all static content to a subdomain so that it could be served by a server closer to you physically than our own (using a content delivery network) and also brought online extensive cache management in the site.

The invite though was of course to an Alpha test of the site, and the purpose of the Alpha was to spot and fix problems just like this. I think you’ll find if you take a look now the site is really very snappy. In fact, the front page of SocialSpark actually loads faster than PayPerPost now, navigation is slicker too. SocialSpark’s pages actually load faster than a great many blogs out there as well, which really isn’t that bad for an extensive social network.

Come back, I think you’ll be pleased!

Kind regards

Pete Wright
